Toyota Production System
As denoted by the term itself, Toyota Production System (TPS) is a concept of building quality within the process of manufacturing enabling human and machine resources to effectively multi task. The first notion of TPS, Jidoka was created in 1902 by Sakichi Toyoda the founder of Toyota.
The focal and the most prominent element of TPS is the Just In Time pillar which was introduced by Kiichiro Toyoda in 1937. Due to the financial stubbornness the company went through at the start of Toyota Motor Corporation, they practiced not to waste on excess equipment and raw materials which was later developed as a cost effective quality improvement tool after decades.
